Why did you start Uncovered. Cosmetics?
We started Uncovered. Cosmetics because we didn’t know what exactly we were putting on our skin and whether the brands were honest. Our search for cosmetics that are good for us and the planet repeatedly led to unclear labels and greenwashing. Can you actually trust the brands? That’s why we decided to do it differently: with Uncovered. Cosmetics we offer simple, transparent and sustainable products as a reliable intermediary. Our goal is to simplify the cosmetics industry and make it fairer, so that everyone can make conscious choices that really make a difference.
What do you stand for?
We stand for three things: simple, transparent and sustainable. We want to break through the tangle of unclear ingredients and misleading claims in the cosmetics industry by offering honest products with a clear checklist, so that you know exactly what you are saying yes to. We carefully choose sustainable products and social partners, so that the impact on the environment is as small as possible. Our goal is to help consumers make conscious choices, with products they can fully trust and without compromising on quality.
Ordering, shipping and returns
Which countries do you ship to?
At this time we only ship within the Netherlands. We expect to be able to ship throughout Europe in the future.
What payment methods can I use?
iDeal, Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay, American Express, Google Pay, Maestro, Shop Pay, Union Pay, PayPal.
How long does it take to receive my package?
Parcels are shipped as soon as possible, depending on the partner.
SMPL: ordered before 3:30 PM on workdays, shipped the same day.
Food For Skin: ordered before 4pm on weekdays, shipped the same day.
Nature Bar: Ships within 2-3 business days
STRÖME: delivered within 3-5 working days
Shampoobars.nl: ordered on workdays before 4:00 PM, shipped the same day.
The Lekker Company: ordered on workdays before 4:00 PM, shipped the same day.
Can I return my order?
What a shame to hear that you want to return your order! Returns are only possible if the product is unopened and in its original condition. To return a product, send an email to info@uncoveredcosmetics.nl with your name, email address, phone number, order number and reason for return. We will contact you as soon as possible.
Please note: returns are at your own expense.
Do you send the packages yourself?
At the moment we do not have the capacity to keep stock of all brands. That is why the packages of most partners are sent by the partner themselves. We do send the products of Shampoobars.nl and The Lekker Company ourselves.
Because we work with different partners, it is possible that you will receive different packages. Don't worry, ordering products from different brands will not affect your shipping costs!
In the future we would of course like to ship all products ourselves!
When do I get free shipping?
For orders over €75 you do not have to pay shipping costs.
About our products
Are your products tested on animals?
No, and it is also prohibited within the EU to market cosmetic products that have been tested on animals. All our partners sell only products that are not tested on animals.
Are your products vegan?
Yes, all our products are vegan.
Are your packaging sustainable?
This varies per partner. Check out the partner's brand page to learn more about their sustainable initiatives.
Are your products microplastic-free?
Yes, all our products are microplastic-free.
Are your products silicone free?
Yes, all our products are silicone free.
Are your products free from parabens?
Yes, all our products are paraben free.
Are your products free of drying alcohol?
Yes, all our products are free from drying alcohol.
Are your products free from synthetic oils?
Yes, all our products are free from synthetic oils.
Are your products free of palm oil?
This is not possible to say with certainty for many products, because we cannot always rule this out based on the ingredients label. For some products this is clear. We are working on a methodology with which we can check the ingredients sources even better for you.
About our partners
How do you select the partners you work with?
We select partners based on their vision and mission. Often this comes down to partners who want to make a social impact and have a heart for sustainability. We are developing a standardized method to select suitable partners.
