The problem
A year ago, we, Lotte and Marieke, stood in our bathroom, surrounded by an endless collection of jars, bottles and tubes. We wanted products that were good for us and the planet, but quickly became entangled in a tangle of complicated ingredient lists and empty promises. It felt like we were in a maze. The more we searched, the more we realized that the products we used every day were full of ingredients that we would rather avoid. At the same time, we were overwhelmed with information and choices, making it difficult to determine what was really the best choice.

Who are we
We are Lotte and Marieke, the founders of Uncovered. Cosmetics. Our personal quest for healthy and fair cosmetics started in that same bathroom. Frustrated by unclear and misleading labels, we decided to thoroughly investigate the world of cosmetics. What we discovered was shocking: not only was there a lot of confusion in the industry, but also a huge impact on the environment and widespread greenwashing practices.
