At Uncovered Cosmetics, we love honesty – hence our name. Transparency is at the heart of everything we do, which is why we want to give you a behind-the-scenes look at the highs and lows of building our startup every week. Because let’s face it, the life of an entrepreneur isn’t always as glamorous as it sometimes seems.

Last week we had a "workation" in beautiful Switzerland, which is of course a highlight in itself. We mainly focused on creating new content and sharpening our marketing strategy during this week. But as in every journey, there were also some valleys. Let's start with those, so we can end on a positive note.

1. Technical challenges
Although we work enthusiastically on our website and webshop, we sometimes run up against our own technical limits. Small adjustments can take hours, because we simply lack the knowledge to implement them quickly. This can be frustrating, but on the other hand, we learn something new every time!

2. No fixed income
Currently, we do not have a steady income from Uncovered Cosmetics. That is why we had to free up time to look for side jobs. It is sometimes difficult to fully focus on your passion when there are other obligations, but we remain determined to make Uncovered a success.

Then on to the peaks!

1. Working in a breathtaking environment
One of the absolute highlights of our workation was the amazing view. We were able to work for a week and enjoy the beautiful nature around us. It felt like a luxury to be able to work in such a beautiful place.

2. New product photos in nature
We have finally been able to photograph our range in nature. The new photos can now be admired on the website and show our products even better.

3. Co-founder bonding
Because we don't normally live in the same city, we only see each other once or twice a week. This week together in Switzerland was a great opportunity to work on our co-founder relationship. This has made us stronger not only on a personal level, but also on a business level.

4. Launch of the plastic-free gift set
We are incredibly proud that we were able to launch something new during our workation: the plastic-free gift set! This is now available in our webshop and is perfect for anyone looking for a sustainable and unique gift.
